2000 Piaggia, Piaggia Carmignano Riserva, Tuscany, Italy

Decanted for one hour. Got better and better all the time. Dark red and it has Italia / Tuscany written all over it, with chocolate, vanilla, cappuccino, rosemary, liquorice, but at the same time tar and very concentrated and compact nose. The taste is really nice with balance, milk chocolate and the texture is smooth, almost creamy and the finish is long with great focus. (94)

Tasted 29. January 2005. Glass: Riedel Sommelier Bordeaux Grand Cru
